I agree with Stripes, Votto deserved the award. He was the only batter in the NL that finished in the top three in the big statistical categories (HR, AVG and RBI), and led the NL in OPS with an incredible 1.024 OPS. Pujols was the only other hitter over 1.000 (1.011).
Pujols may have had a slightly better overall year by the numbers, but Votto's team beat Albert's and won the division. Votto was the deserving receipent.
and most likey Josh Hamilton wins the AL MVP, he hit almost .360 (Miggy Cabrera has a case, but Hamilton's team made the WS)

Best season by a Red since Morgan's 1976 campaign (which in my opinion will never be topped by a Red). The Reds must sign Votto and Bruce to long term contracts.
